Creating and Applying Taxes
The platform allows you to add taxes to your products, invoices and estimates. Taxes update the total based on a % tax rate. They are also a good way to account for processing fees!
Note: At this time taxes may not be applied to service prices and cannot be applied at booking.
Creating a Tax
- Navigate to Settings > Payments.
- Switch to the Invoices and Estimates tab.
- Scroll down to Set your taxes.
- In the fields provided, specify the name of the tax, and the tax rate as a %.
- Click on the Add button to add the new tax. This tax will now be available to apply to any products in your products list as well as your invoices and estimates.
- Click on the 'x' next to any tax to remove it at any time.
Applying a Tax to an Invoice/Estimate
Taxes are applied to individual line items in invoices and estimates.
- To add a tax, click the ⋮ icon next to any line item on your invoice or estimate and select Edit.
- Click on a Tax field. If you have previously defined taxes, they will appear in the dropdown for you to select.
- Create a new tax if needed by selecting Add a new tax (the new tax you create will also be added to your account's list of taxes under Settings > Payments).
- In the popup, enter a description for the tax and the tax rate.
- Click Add.
- The tax will be applied to the relevant item and update the total. Continue applying tax to as many items on the invoice/estimate as needed. You can add up to 3 taxes per item.
Important: The tax is only applied to the line item you edited. If you need to apply the tax to every item on the invoice/estimate, make sure to edit and apply the same tax to all of them.
Applying a Tax to a Product
