How to Take Payments on Outstanding Amounts
The platform gives you multiple options to collect payments on open invoices and payment requests.
You have the option to charge a credit card directly or send your client a payment link via text or email - if you do not take online payments you can also manually record a payment.
To take a payment:
- Navigate to Payments > Billing and Invoicing to see your open payment requests (you can filter the list using the filters on the right.
- Click on the open payment to open the Payment details page.
- Click the Take Payment button.
- In the pop-up window, select your preferred payment option:
SMS/Email Payment Link
Send a single-use payment link right to your client's phone via SMS or email the link directly to them
- SMS: A text message is sent to the phone number on file for the client, containing a payment link. You can edit the phone number if you would like to send it to a different phone number. Click the Update number for SMS notifications checkbox which appears to save the new phone number to the client card.
- Email: A payment link is emailed to the email address on file.
- Click Send.
When your client pays the amount, you will receive a notification in your platform Inbox as well as your personal email! Below is an example of the link on the client side:
