Require a deposit during booking
You might want to have your clients pay a deposit while scheduling - either because the final price of your service may vary or as a non-refundable security deposit to discourage cancelations and no-shows. Here are our top tips on taking a deposit in vcita.
- Start in your vcita dashboard. Navigate to Settings > My Services and click on the service to edit
Tip: Optionally, clarify in the Service Name and Service Description that the price shown at booking is only a deposit and that the final price is TBD and will be invoiced at a later date.
- Scroll down to the Price settings section and select Paid - Require to pay at booking from the Service fee dropdown.
- Specify the Service price. This is the deposit amount which clients will have to pay online in order to book the appointment.
Tip: On the Platinum subscription or higher, you can customize the booking auto-reply to remind clients that they have only paid for the deposit on the service. Let them know that you will be contacting them to determine the final price or sending a final invoice.. or both! This can be customized at the service level.
- Click on the Save button at the top of the page to save your settings.
