Sending and Purchasing SMS

With your premium subscription, you get monthly SMS credits for appointment reminders, notifications, and marketing. The number of credits varies based on your subscription level and location. If you use them up before the month resets, you can purchase additional credits whenever you need them.

Send SMS Messages

Sending SMS can be straightforward but here are a few key things to know when using it for your business:

  • Character limits: A standard text message is 160 characters for English text and 70 for non-English text, including any URLs, names, and dates inserted using placeholders.
  • Charges for over 160 characters: If your message exceeds 160 characters, you’ll be charged for additional messages. For example, a 320-character message counts as two texts.
Tip: To stay within the limit, we recommend keeping your messages under 130 characters so that added URLs won’t push the total above 160.

What can I use SMS for?

Here’s how you can use your SMS credits:

  • Automated booking confirmations and reminders
  • Automated invoice and estimate notifications
  • Direct text messages to your clients
  • SMS marketing campaigns (including announcements and automated messages)
  • SMS payment requests

Send International SMS

If you're sending SMS from the US or Canada to a phone number outside of these two countries, you'll be charged the international rate. This means each text will use two credits instead of one.

Note: Some countries aren’t eligible to receive SMS. If you have any questions about a specific country, feel free to reach out to support.
