Connect Your Domain to Your Client Portal
We are unable to support some top level domains such as .app, .bank, .chrome and .dev. Connecting one of these domains to your client portal will result in security errors preventing access to your client portal. Please reach out to support if you are using one of the listed domains or if you are experiencing similar access issues with your client portal.
To connect your custom domain to the client portal, you need to first set a CNAME record on your domain registrar, and then make the connection to your vcita account.
Setting a CNAME Record on the Domain Registrar
Set up a CNAME record pointing to connect.vcita.com
A CNAME record includes three fields: Name, Value and TTL (Time-to-Live). For example, if we want to set the client portal domain to be www.mydomain.com, we will use:
- Name: www
- Value: connect.vcita.com
- TTL: Leave as default or change to the desired value
Note: You can replace "www" with any subdomain of your choice. For example, if you want to use live.mydomain.com, change the Name field from "www" to "live".
For step-by-step instructions, select your domain registrar:

After setting a CNAME record, go back to your vCita account and do the following:
- Open the Online Presence menu and select Client Portal.
- Select the Customize button next to the current URL.
- Under Connect your own domain, type the full domain you've set for your client portal (in our example: www.mydomain.com), and click Save.
- Click Done.
