How to Set Custom Availability, Preparation Time, and Time-slot Intervals per Service
With the advanced settings for services, you can set the Availability, Preparation Time, and Time-slot intervals for each service. These features will help you to make the most of your time and have more control over the services you provide, and the time slots offered to your clients!
Custom Service Availability
When a service is available for a client to book online, the availability will default to your business hours. However, you can further customize the service availability. For example, you may only offer a particular service in the evenings while you offer other services all day.
- Navigate to Settings > My Services.
- Select a service to edit.
- Scroll down to the section Service Availability
- Select the option Service has different availability.
- Enter the custom availability for this individual service. You can use the + icon to add more time slots.
- Once set up, click the Done button at the top of the page.
- Click Preview as a Client near the top of the page to view the changes.
Services can also have date specific availability. If there is a specific date you know you will have different hours for an individual service, you can also click on Edit Availability For Specific Dates and you can edit the availability for just the service.
Preparation Time
Preparation time ensures that you have padding time between consecutive meetings, instead of back to back scheduling.
To set Preparation time:
- Navigate to Settings > My Services.
- Select a service to edit.
- Scroll down to Duration & Availability
- Under Duration click Preparation time and select the desired amount of prep time between appointments from the dropdown.
In this case, there will be 10 minutes of time before each appointment of this type.
- Once completed click the Done button at the top of the page.
- Click Preview as a Client near the top of the page to view the changes.
Time-slot Intervals
This setting lets you control the frequency of time slots displayed to the client for booking. For example, if you set an interval of 30 minutes, your online calendar will display available time slots for the service beginning at each half hour top of the hour. (The appointment duration can be shorter or longer than the interval you choose.) By default, the interval is set to match the duration of the service - which maximizes efficiency and minimizes potentially wasted time in your schedule.
To edit time-slot intervals:
- Navigate to Settings > My Services.
- Select a service to edit.
- Scroll down to Duration & Availability.
- Click the drop-down menu under Time-slot Intervals and select the interval length.
- Once set, click the Done button found at the top of the page.
- Click Preview as a Client near the top of the page to view the changes.
In the above example, the 60-minute long service is offered every 30 minutes. When booked, a full appointment 60 minutes long will be placed on the calendar starting at the time selected. See below:
