How to move or nest a client under an existing contact
Multiple clients may be nested under a single contact. The clients carry their own client information but they will share the contact information (like email, phone number etc.) of the main contact they are nested under. This is often beneficial when you are trying to nest a student under their parent, for example. The client information is the student's information, while the contact information is their parent's contact info.
But what if you want to have two separate contacts and you would like to nest an existing contact under another one?
- Navigate to the client card of the client you want to nest.
- Click the More button near the top of the page and select the Move client under... option.
- Type in the name or email of the contact you want to nest under. Select the appropriate contact.
- Approve the action on the next screen.
The client and all of their associated activities (like payments, appointments, notes) will be moved under the new selected contact. The client will now appear in the contact's list of nested clients.
The client information will be retained in the client info pane on the left-hand side.
The contact information will be overridden by the new main contact.
The old contact info will be saved as an internal note on the client card as a reference.
